Special Prayers of Prophet Musa ‘Alaihissalam

Bismillah was shalatu was greeting ‘ala rasulillah, amma ba’du,

Among the prophets whose names are often referred to in the Qur’an are the Prophet Moses ‘alaihis sahalatu was greetings. He is the prophet whose journey of history is most often told in the Koran after our prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Some scholars count, his name is mentioned 136 times in the Qur’an. The best prophet among the children of Israel, including ulul azmi, and has the title kalimullah (the person to be spoken to directly by Allah). (Fabi Hudahum, Dr. Utsman al-Khamis, p. 326).

He is Musa ibn Imran, and is still a descendant of the Prophet Ya’ub alaihis sahalatu was greetings. Allah affirms in the Qur’an that he is among those who get a lot of tests of life,

“And We have given you trials with various trials.” (Surah Taha: 40).

And this is the secret of why his history is most often mentioned in the Qur’an, so that we can take lessons from his struggle and his efforts in preaching the truth to all his people. Dr. Utsman al-Khamis said,

His name is mentioned repeatedly in the book of Allah (the Qur’an) which shows that God wants us to always reflect on his condition, the difficulties he encountered, his tiredness, every disturbance and test he faced. (Fabi Hudahum, Dr. Utsman al-Khamis, p. 327).

Prayer of the Prophet Moses, peace be upon him

We return to the theme of the discussion about the prayer of Moses. In the Qur’an, Allah mentions several prayers offered by Moses. The prayers he offered on every occasion were different. But there is one very amazing prayer, a prayer that treats the many anxieties experienced by Moses,

“My Lord, I really need every good that you send to me.” (Qur’an, 24: 24).

You can note the letter al-Qashas, Allah told Moses from verses 3 to verse 43. This prayer was spoken by Moses when he was in a state of extreme difficulty. Covered by anxiety and fear. For ordinary people, that situation might have been considered the culmination of the test, as if there was no more hope for life.

1. Pharaoh exhausted the children of Israel

2. Slaughter every baby boy, and let the baby girl live

3. Pharaoh weakened every part of the life of the people of Israel, as if there was no hope of being able to rise up to fight for his independence.

4. God told his mother Moses to anchor his son to the river.

5. Moses was raised by the Pharaoh’s family. Little Moses grew in the midst of his potential enemies.

6. After being large, Moses fled from the kingdom of Pharaoh. Moses killed Pharaoh’s followers while trying to help the Israelite man who was fighting over water with the victim.

7. Moses became afraid in the city of Egypt, for killing Pharaoh’s followers. Even an informant came, that the leaders of the Pharaoh’s army had agreed to kill Moses.

8. Moses came out Egypt with great fear, he walked towards Madyan.

9. In the middle of the trip he found two women waiting in line to get water for their livestock, but they were unable to do so. Then Moses helped.

At that moment, Moses felt desperately in need of help and help. But there is no place to complain, no family, no work, no return to Egypt in the near future. At that moment, Moses felt very much in need of his Lord’s help. Under the shade of the trees, he prayed,

Moses gave the cattle a drink to help the two women, then he sat in the shade and prayed: “My Lord! I really need every kind of good that you send to me.” (Surah Al-Qashas: 24).

The dipper welcomes, after the prayer of God remove the restlessness of Moses, step by step. One of the women whom Moses helped, offered Moses to come to his house. Meet the girl’s father.

1. God gave a guarantee of security to Moses, with God he gathered with people who were pious (father of the girl).

2. The father married Moses with one of his daughters.

3. Moses got a safe job and place to live in the city of Madyan.

4. Moses got a stick that would become his miracle.

5. Moses was invited by God to go to a valley full of blessings, the valley of Tuwa.

6. In this valley, God spoke directly with Moses making him a prophet.

7. Moses got many miracles to fight Pharaoh.

8. God raised Moses’ brother, Aaron, as a Prophet, who would help Moses in preaching.

9. God won Moses and Pharaoh was drowned in the red sea.

You can pay attention, the success and success of Allah gave Moses. All that began after he prayed with hope, felt devoted to God, begged God to bring down many good things for him.

That’s the way between adab in prayer. Pray and plead with God, when you feel a great need for God’s help, making prayer prayerful. Because you feel very close to God. So that the prayer sung becomes very high quality.

In contrast to prayer that is routine. Read Arabic text, but not accompanied by the presence of the heart. Only limited to oral, without any feeling of need for God. This condition makes our prayers not perfect. As stated by the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam,

“Pray to God with full confidence will be granted. Consider that God will not allow prayer from a servant whose heart is negligent. “(Narrated by Turmudzi 3479, Judge in al-Mustadrak 1817 and celebrated by al-Albani).

Allahu a’lam

Lessons from the Story of the Angels’ Prostrations to Adam

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala has placed Adam and his descendants in a noble position, more noble than other creatures. One proof that shows this is that after Allah created Adam, Allah commanded the angels to prostrate to Adam aih alaihi shalatu wa salam.

“And (remember) when We said to the angels:” Prostrate to Adam, “then they fell down except Satan; he is reluctant and arrogant and is a class of unbelievers. “(Surat al-Baqarah: 34)

The events of the prostration of angels to Adam sometimes cause polemics in some Muslims or indeed this issue is deliberately thrown into the midst of Muslims to spread ambiguity by questioning “Why does Allah meridhai His creatures prostrate to Him besides? Isn’t this just legitimizing the shirk? And Satan is a servant of Allah who truly mentions him because he refuses to bow down to Adam. ” More or less the ambiguous sentence that is often exaggerated by some circles.

What we need to know is that the scholars divided prostrations into two parts; first, prostration of worship and the second prostration (tahiyah) respect.

Prostrations of worship can only be offered to Allah alone, not to Him. God never commanded any of His creatures to bow before Him in order to worship the creature. The angels of Allah commanded prostration to Adam not in the framework of prostration of worship but prostration of respect.

Prostration of respect is part of the Shari’a of the previous Ummah, then this practice is forbidden by the sending of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu aih alaihi wa sallam. Among the examples of prostrations of respect is the prostration of the angels to Prophet Adam aih alaihissalam. Likewise, the Prophet Yusuf’s dream that he told his father Prophet Ya’qub then the dream came true. In the letter Joseph is told,

(Remember), when Joseph said to his father, “O my father, I actually dreamed of seeing eleven stars, the sun and the moon; I saw everything prostrated to me. “(Surah Yusuf: 4)

And he raised his two sons on the throne. And they all fell down and prostrated to Joseph. And said Joseph, “O my father this is the birth of my old dream; in fact my Lord has made it a reality … “(Surah Yusuf: 100)

These are among the examples of prostrations of respect that are part of the previous Shari’a.

These are among the examples of prostrations of respect that are part of the previous Shari’a.

A similar experience has also occurred to Muadz bin Jabal when he saw the book of the Prophet in Sham. When returning from Sham, Muadz prostrated before the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, then the Prophet sallallaahu‘ alaihi wa sallam said,

“What is this, O Mu’adz?” Muadz replied, “I just came from Sham. What I did was similar to them, (the people there) spelled prostrations for their bishops and pastors. I also want to do it to you. “He sallallaahu‘ alaihi wa sallam replied, “Don’t do it. If I ordered someone to prostrate, then I would order the wife to prostrate to her husband. “(HR Ibn Majah, No. 1853).

What the people of Sham did was an example of the previous Shari’a which they were still practicing, they prostrated themselves to religious leaders and their figures as a tribute to these dignitaries, not to worship them.

Among other examples also, there is a creeping animal that prostrates to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam then he forbade it because prostration to beings, whether it be prostration, more respect for prostration for worship, unlawful in the Shari’a of Muhammad sallallaahu‘ alaihi wa sallam. In the scales of the Shari’a of Muhammad (read: Islamic law) prostration of respect is tantamount to prostration of worship, unlawful if offered to other than Allah.

Another lesson that we can learn from the angels’ prostration to Prophet Adam aih alaihissalam is that the devil is included in the Jinn nation not from the angelic group as understood by some people.

Angels are created from light, while the Jinns are including demons, Allah created from fire. Allah says,

And (remember) when We said to the angels, “Prostrate to Adam, and bow down to them except Satan. He is from the genie class, so he disobeyes the commands of his Lord … “(QS. Al-Kahf: 50)

Allah said, “What prevents you from prostrating (to Adam) when I tell you?” Satan replied, “I am better than that, You created me from fire while He created You from the ground”. (QS. Al-A’raf: 12)

Thus the devil is not of the angelic group, at that time he was only with the obedient angels of God. Some claim that the devil was a genie who obeyed God. This is the reason he was glorified by being gathered with angels even though he was not an angel. But finally his arrogance is seen in the presence of angels, when Allah tests it by ordering to bow down to Adam.

Is it true that Noah was not patient because he asked Adzab for his people?

Some people accuse Rasulullah Nuh aih alaihissalam is not an Apostle who patiently faces his people, even though Allah himself presents ulul azmi among the apostles. The reason people accused Noah was impatient because Noah asked adzab to Allah for his people.

Let’s understand the flow of the story, why does Noah say so, so that we do not deteriorate to the noble messenger of God.

The people of Noah are those who deny Allah and His Messenger. Not only do kufr, they also constantly challenge Noah to bring adzab as proof of the truth of his preaching. They say,

“O Noah, you have argued with us, and you have extended your denial against us, so bring us the adzab that you threaten to us, if you are among the righteous.” (Surah Hud: 32)

But Noah remained patient and did not reply to their words by saying yes or responding with threats, he only said that the adzab’s decision was not his will, but only the will of God.

Noah answered, “Only Allah will bring the punishment to you if He wills, and you cannot escape”. (Surah Hud: 33)

Noah who had preached for 950 years, not only during the day but also at night he did not stop calling on his people. During that long period he was patient with the physical and psychological disorders he received.

Noah said: “O my Lord, I have called my people day and night, but my appeal is only to increase them to flee (from the truth). (QS. Noah: 6-7)

Not only did they reject the call of Noah, they mocked him by covering their ears.

“And truly every time I call upon them (to faith) that You forgive them, they put their finger in his ear and cover his clothes (kapatiya) and they remain (deny) and boast very highly.” (QS. Noah: 8 )

Allah Ta’ala also responded to the people of Noah who exceeded this limit by saying, preaching to the Prophet Muhammad Noah aih alaihi ash-shalatu wa as-salam that no more people would believe in him.

“And revealed to Noah, that there will never be faith among your people, except those who have believed (only), therefore do not be sad about what they always do.” (QS. Hud: 36)

That is, no one will believe in your call after the 9 people who have followed you.

Hearing this word of God, Noah realized that God would immediately bring down His adzah to his people.

“(If so) my Rabb, then do you not leave any unbeliever on this earth. If you let them, surely they will lead your servants astray (others), and they will also give birth to offspring who always sin and kufr. “(QS. Noah: 26-27)

Thus the previous Shari’a, when a people sinned and transgressed, Allah will reduce His adoration directly in the world by destroying them. Look at the people ‘Add the people of Prophet Hud, when they reneged on and kept on boasting, Allah destroyed them with a hurricane. The people of Prophet Lut, Allah made them perish by showering fire from the sky then turning the earth they stepped on. The Madyan Nation, the people of the Prophet Syuaib Allah destroyed them with a thunderous thunder so they died instantly as if no one had lived in the area before. Pharaoh, Qarun, etc. Allah hurriedly adorned them in the world and later the greater adzab in the hereafter.

In contrast to the people of the Prophet Muhammad whom Allah prioritized over other people, Allah delayed His adherence in the hereafter, and extended the period for the people of Muhammad to think and repent. All of that God does with His wisdom and knowledge, and we should be grateful for this.

And finally the adzab that they were waiting for came, the sky lowered the very heavy water and the earth let out abundant water. The earth is also a very large ocean, with waves as high as mountains.

“And the ark sailed with them in a wave like a mountain.” (Surah Hud: 42)

Thus Allah set the destiny for the people of Noah.

The Migration of the Messenger of Allah

During this time, the incident of hijrah sangant is identical to our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam only. In fact, when we read the Qur’an, of course we find that the prophets and messengers besides the Prophet Muhammad also experienced a new chapter in their preaching in the form of hijrah. But maybe we are not aware that this is their migration, a new phase of the mission of the messengers of Allah.

Although many prophets and apostles experienced migration, their migration was different from the migration of our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.

Among the apostles who experienced the migration event are:

First: Prophet Ibrahim sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.

Regarding the migration of Abraham, there were two opinions, which city was the destination of Prophet Ibrahim after going from his country Iraq. (1) Some say that he migrated to Mecca and (2) others said that he moved to Syria, to the land of Jerusalem, Palestine. And no doubt, Prophet Ibrahim did enter the two cities. But which city was visited first? Allahu a’lam.

There are at least three verses which explain the migration of Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihi ash-shalatu wa as-salam.

“So Lut justified him. And Ibrahim said: “I will move to (the place which is commanded) my Lord (to me); indeed He is the Mighty, the Wise. “(Surat al-Ankabut: 26).

Another verse,

And Ibrahim said: “Verily I go before my Lord, and He will guide me”. (Surah Ash-Shaffat: 99).

And the word of God,

“And I will distance myself from you and from what you exclaim besides Allah, and I will pray to my Lord, hopefully I will not be disappointed by praying to my Lord”. (Surah Maryam: 48).

He distanced himself from the worship they did and also distance himself from the place.

Second: The Prophet Musa sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.

The migration of Prophet Moses was different from the migration of Prophet Ibrahim and the Prophet Muhammad. When he moved, Prophet Moses was not appointed as an apostle. The Prophet Ibrahim and the Prophet Muhammad were appointed as messengers when both of them emigrated.

The migration of Prophet Moses occurred when he killed a man Qibthi.

“And a man came from the edge of the city hurrying up and said: ‘O Moses, verily the prince of the country is negotiating about you to kill you, because that came out of this city, I am among those who gave you advice. “(Qur’an, Al-Qasas: 20).

The Prophet Moses went to Madyan. During his 10-year stay in Madyan, Prophet Moses married a female woman from an elderly man in the region.

Another difference between the migration of the Prophet Muhammad and the Prophet Moses was the background of the migration. If the emigration of the Prophet Muhammad was because the Meccans had closed themselves from the guidance of Islam, while in Madinah the widespread existence of da’wah and the establishment of an Islamic state were very likely to be reached. As for the Prophet Moses to avoid the cruelty of Pharaoh.

“Then I ran away from you when I was afraid of you, then my Lord gave me knowledge and He made me one of the apostles.” (Surah AS-Syuara: 21).

And there are still many other prophets and apostles who experienced hijrah, such as Prophet Ya’qub and Prophet Yusuf, etc. In conclusion, the migration of the prophets is different from the migration of the Prophet Muhammad. His hijrah has a position that is so noble and also very heavy in practice. His hijrah was not a dilator, running away from the torture or adzab of his people.

Modeling the Prophet Ibrahim

Ibrahim’s determination aih alaihissallam in preaching tawheed to his father

The most important element in the process of purifying the soul is by upholding tauhidullah, making it the main pillar so that it influences other elements in the soul. If someone’s monotheism is good, then other elements are good. And vice versa, if someone’s monotheism is bad, it will also be very influential in every step of his life. And we hope that Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, will always give His guidance and guidance.

In studying the life journey of Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam, we will get himself as a very firm and persistent person in upholding the great right of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, namely tawhid. This can be seen in several moments, including:

1. Da’wah of Tawheed to His Father ‘Alaihissallan Patiently and Full of Compassion.

Al-Hafihz Ibn Katsiir Rahimahullah said, “The inhabitants of the land of Harran were idolaters and idols. All the inhabitants of the earth are infidels except Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam, his wife, and his nephew, the Prophet Luth‘ alaihissallam. Ibrahim aih alaihissallam was chosen to be the servant of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala who abolished the kesyirikan and eliminated misguided falsehoods. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala has bestowed on him perseverance since his childhood. He was appointed as an Apostle, and Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala chose him as the lover of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala in the next period.

The beginning of the tauhid da’wah which he aih alaihissallam tegakkan, was directed to his father, because he was an idol worshiper and the most entitled to be given advice (Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah, juz 1, p: 326).

Shaykh as-Sa`di rahimahullah said, “Ibrahim aih alaihissallam was the best of the prophets after the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu‘ alaihi wa sallam, … who had Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala made prophethood to his descendants. And the scriptures were revealed to them. He has invited mankind to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, be patient with the torment that he has (on his missionary journey), he invites people who are close (with him) and people who are far away, he is serious in preaching to his father however the way … “(Tafsir as-Sa`di, p: 443.)

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala said,

“Remember when he said to his father; “O my father, why do you worship something that does not hear, does not see and cannot help you at all?”. (Surah Maryam: 42).

Look, how did Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam preach monotheism to his father with a very gentle expression and good words to explain the evil in the act of shirk he did ?! (Tafsir as-Sa`di, p. 444). His father’s rejection of da’wah did not dampen his enthusiasm and affection towards his father by still asking for forgiveness, even though the request for forgiveness was not justified by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Mentioned in His word,

“And the request for forgiveness from Abraham (to Allah) for his father was nothing but because of a promise that had been made to his father. So when it was clear to Ibrahim that his father was an enemy of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, then Ibrahim was released from him. Indeed, Ibrahim is a very gentle person, a heartbroken person. “(Surat at-Tawbah: 114).

In another attempt, Ibrahim had a dialogue with his father:

وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ آزَرَ أَصْنَامًا آلِهَةً ۖ إِنِّي أَرَاكَ وَقَوْمَكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ

“And (remember) when Abraham said to his father, Azar. ‘Are you worthy to make idols gods? Indeed, I see you and your people in a real error. “(Surat al-An’am: 74).

Syaikh as-Sa’di said, “And remember (against) the story of Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam when Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala praised and glorified him when he preached invites to monotheism and prohibited from doing shirk.” (Tafsir as-Sa`di, p. : 224).

Thus, the struggle for tawhid da’wah delivered by Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam to his people. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala makes it as part of the verses of the Koran which will always be read and studied carefully.

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala said,

“And (remember) Abraham, when he said to his people:” Worship Allah and fear Him, which is better for you, if you Know. “(Surah Al-Ankabut: 16).

Ibn Kathir rahimahullah said in interpreting this verse: “Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala reported about His servants, Apostles and His beloved, namely Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam the imam of the hunafa’, that he ‘alaihissallam preached invites his people to worship Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala solely and there is no ally for Him, blessing Him in piety, pleading for sustenance only to Him, and pressing Him in thankfulness. “(Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Juz 3, p. 536).

The determination of tawhid da’wah which was championed by Prophet Ibrahim Ibrahim alaihissallam was also embodied in the words of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala surat al-Anbiya` verses 51-56. And in a number of verses it is stated, that tawheed preaching to the father and his people is carried out simultaneously, as mentioned in the as-Syu’ara letter verse 69, and ash-Shaffat verse 84.

2. Prophet Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam Firm And Steadfast in Facing Trials and Torture.

This attitude is reflected in his story ‘alaihissallam when preaching invites people to bertauhid and mengesakan Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, but most reject it with utter contempt. The fortitude of the Prophet Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam is an example for every dai in inviting people to the path that is blessed by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. The story of the fortitude of the Prophet Ibrahim Ibrahim alaihissallam enshrined in the Qur’an through His words. Although his people were strong enough to burn him, but Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam remained steadfast and surrendered all matters to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. As the word of Allah Ta’ala,

Ibrahim said: “Do you worship the sculptures that you carved? Even though Allah created you and what you did. They said: “Establish a building for (burning) Abraham; then throw him into the blazing fire”. They want to deceive him, so We make them contemptible. (Surah Ash-Shaffat: 95-98).

As-Suddi rahimahullah said: “They held him in a house. They collect firewood, even a woman who is sick with bernadzar by saying “really if Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala has given me healing, then I will gather firewood to burn Ibrahim”. After the firewood is collected soaring, they begin to burn each end of the edge of the pile, so that if a bird flies above it, it will surely burn. They came to Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam then carried him to the top of the high pile of firewood. Another history says, he was put in the end of Manjaniq.

Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam raised his head to the sky, then the sky, earth, mountains and angels said: “O, Rabb! Indeed, Abraham will be burned because (fighting for your rights)

Prophet Ibrahim said, “Yes, Allah, You are the One in the heavens, and I am alone on this earth. No one worships you on this earth besides me. Enough for me You are the best Helper. “(Fathul-Bari, Juz 6, p. 483).

They then threw Prophet Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam into a pile of high firewood, then called (by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala): “O fire, be cold and safe for Ibrahim.” (Tabari commentary, Juz 9, p. 43).

Ibn Abbas and Abu al-Aliyah, both said: “If Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala did not say ‘and survived for Ibrahim,’ surely the fire will destroy Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam coldly.” (Tabari commentary, Juz 9, p. : 43).

3. Confident of the Greatness of God Allah Almighty

When Prophet Ibrahim was placed at the end of Manjaniq, he was shackled with his hands behind. Then his people threw Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam into the fire, and he also said: “Sufficient is Allah za Azza wa Jalla for us, and He is the best Helper”.

As narrated by Imam Bukhari from the Companion of Ibn Abbas radhiyallahu ‘anhuma, he said:

حَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيْلُ

(Allah is sufficient za Azza wa Jalla for us and He is the best helper) “Prophet Ibrahim‘ alaihissallam said when he was thrown into the fire (Shahih Bukhari and Fathul-Bari, Juz 8, p. 288, no. 4563).

Thus, Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam was very confident in the greatness, help and protection of Allah za Azza wa Jalla, because he was fighting for the rights of Allah za Azza wa Jalla the greatest, namely tauhid in worshiping Him Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.

The command of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala is Above All

1. The story of migrating with Hajar and Ismail (Sahih Bukhari and Fathul-Bari, Juz 6, p. 478, no. 3364).

When Ishmael was just born and in the descent of his mother (Hajar), Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam took both of them to Baitullah on the dauhah (a shady tree) on the zam-zam. At that time, there was no one in Makkah, and there was also no water source.

Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam left jirab, which is a bag used to store food. The bag contains dates for both. Also leaving the siqa (water container) containing drinking water. Then Prophet Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam turned and left. Hajar followed him while saying: “O, Ibrahim! Where are you going to leave us in this quiet, uninhabited valley? “Hajar repeated the question many times, but Ibrahim did not turn his head, nor ignored him. Then Hajar asked: “Has Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala ordered you this?”

Ibrahim replied, “Yes.”

Hearing the answer, Hajar said: “If so, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala will not leave us”. Then Hajar returned to his original place. As for Ibrahim, he continued to leave them, so he arrived at a place where he could no longer see his wife and child. Abraham also turned his face toward the House while raising his hands and praying: Our Lord, I have placed a portion of my descendants in a valley that has no plants near the house of You (the Temple) that is honored, our Rabb (that is) so they set up prayers, so make the hearts of some people tend to them and give them blessings from fruits, hopefully they will be grateful. [QS. Ibrahim verse 37).

2. The Story of Ismail’s Slaughter.

Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam prayed: “O my Rabb, grant me the righteous child,” then Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala gave him good news with the presence of a noble child again patient. And when the child began to grow up trying to be with Ibrahim, Ibrahim said to him: “O my son, in fact I saw in a dream that I killed you. So think about what you think? “

Isma’il replied: “O my father, do what Allah commands Subhanahu wa Ta’ala to you; God willing, you will find myself including those who are patient “.

When both of them have surrendered and Ibrahim laid his son on his temple, (see the patience of both). After that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala called him: “O Ibrahim, really you have justified the dream. Verily, thus We give back to those who do good. This is truly a real test. And we redeemed the child with a great sacrifice. We capture it for Abraham (good praise) among those who came later. (I.e) ‘Welfare bestowed on Ibrahim’. Thus Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala replies to those who do good. Indeed, he is a servant of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala who is a believer. This story is explained in the Qur’an in Surat ash-Shaffat verses 99-111.

In Tafsir al-Qurthubi, Juz 18, things: 69 and Tafsir al-Baghawi, Juz 4, p. 33, Ibn Abbas said:

Ibrahim and Isma’il … both were obedient, submitting obedient to Allah’s commands Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Remember, meditate on the story … when both of them will carry out Allah’s commands Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, sincerely and steadfastly the child said:

يَا أَبَتِ اشْدُدْ رِبَاطِيْ حَتَّى لاَ أَضْطَرِبَ …

“O my father, tighten my ties so that I no longer move.”

“O my father, roll up your clothes so that my blood does not pollute your clothes, it will reduce my weight, and (if later) the mother sees the bloodstain, surely she will be sad.”

“And sharpen Daddy’s knife and accelerate the knife’s movement on my neck so that it feels lighter to me because really death is very awesome.”

“O Father, if you have returned, then give my greetings (love) to my mother, and if my shirt is my father’s view, it is good to take it home, then do it.”

(At that time, with great emotion) Ibrahim said: “O my son, really you are a child who is very helpful in carrying out the commands of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala”.

In Sahih Qashashil-Anbiya Ibn Kathir rahimahullah said, “This is a test of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala for His beloved (ie Ibrahim‘ alaihissallam) to slaughter his noble son and was only born after he was old. (This test took place) after Allah ordered him to leave Hajar when Ismail was still breastfeeding in a arid place, quiet without plants (which the fruit ate), without water and without occupants. He obeyed the commands of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, leaving his wife and young son with high conviction and trust in Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. So Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala gave them convenience, a way out, and an abundance of sustenance from unexpected directions. After all the exams were surpassed, God tested again with His command to slaughter his own son, namely Ismail aih alaihissallam. And without hesitation, Ibrahim welcomed Allah’s command Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and immediately obeyed. He aih alaihissallam delivered the test of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala in advance to his son, so that Ismail’s heart would be roomy and able to accept it, so that the test did not have to be carried out in a forced and painful manner. Subhan Allah…

3. The command of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala to Ibrahim for Berkhitan.

When Ibrahim aih alaihissallam had reached the age of dusk (eighty years old), he was tested by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala with a number of commands, including his circumcision. As the hadith of Abi Hurairah radhiyallahu ‘anhu, he said: The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu‘ alaihi wa sallam said:

اخْتَتَنَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَمَانِينَ سَنَةً

“Ibrahim aih alaihissallam circumcised at the age of eighty years.” (Shahih Bukhari and Fathul-Bari (Juz 6, p. 468, no. 3356)).

He aih alaihissallam berkhitan with a large knife (such as an ax). Although it felt very hard for him aih alaihissallam, but it never made him feel doubtful about all the goodness of Allah’s commands Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Even in a narration, Ali bin Rabah radhiyallahu ‘anhu states that:” He (Ibrahim Ibrahim alaihissallam) was ordered to circumcise, then he did it with qadum. So Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala revealed ‘You were in a hurry before We determined the tools’. He said: ‘O Rabb, I really don’t like having to postpone Your command ‘.” (Sahih Bukhari and Fathul-Bari, Juz 6, p. 472)

4. Command of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala to Build the Ka`bah.

“And (remember), when We gave a place to Abraham at the place of Baitullah (by saying):” Do not associate anything with Me and purify this My house for those who disbelieve, and those who worship and the people who bow ‘and bow down. And cried out to men to do the pilgrimage, surely they would come to you on foot, and ride thin camels that came from all directions far away, “(Surat al-Hajj: 26-27).

In Sahih Bukhari it is stated, that Ibrahim aih alaihissallam said: “O my son, indeed Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala ordered me something”.

Ismail aih alaihissallam replied: “Do the command of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala to you”.

Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam asked:” Do you (will) help me? “

Ismail aih alaihissallam replied: “Yes, I will help you”.

Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam said again:” Surely Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala has ordered me to build here a house “. (Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam signaled land that was a little high compared to what was around him). That’s when both of them build foundations. And Ismail aih alaihissallam brought to his father the stones and Ibrahim aih alaihissallam composed them. So, when it started high, he took the stone and placed it so Ibrahim ‘alaihissallam could rise above it. Thus, both of them did, and they said:

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

“Our Lord accepts us (our deeds), verily You are the Hearing, the Knower.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 127).

From the presentation of the stories above, many important and valuable lessons can be learned, including:

Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissallam was a servant of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and His Messenger Subhanahu wa Ta’ala who was very obedient to Him Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, so Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala made him a beloved servant.
The main pillar of tazkiyyatun-nufus efforts is in matters of tawhid. And preaching calls to tauhid is the mandate borne by the prophets, and at the same time becomes a role model for every dai.
Patience in preaching monotheism and steadfastness in the face of tests on that path, must be carried out in accordance with the method exemplified by the apostles aih alaihissallam.
Convinced of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala is one of the keys to success in navigating life.
The command of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala is the most important thing above all. Sincerity in carrying out all the commands of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala is happiness. So we should make every effort to implement it accompanied by prayers asking for taufik and the ease of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.
All examples of goodness exist in the Apostles alaihissallam which must always be a model for us in every way. Wallahul Musta`an ..

Those Who Die Then Live Again: Prophet Ibrahim and Birds (5/5)

Allah ﷻ says,

And (remember) when Abraham said: “O my Lord, show me how you brought the dead to life”. Allah said: “Are you not sure?” Ibrahim replied: “I have convinced him, but so that my heart remains steady (with my faith) Allah says:” (If so) take four birds, then chop them all by you. (Allah says): “Then put on each one hill one part of the parts, then call them, they will come to you immediately”. And know that Allah is Mighty, Wise. (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 260).

He is al-Muhyi, the Everlasting One. He has the power to make the arid fields become lush. Look at this dry season. Dead grass. Dusty soil, dry, cracked. Then the water comes down from the sky, the dried grass becomes fresh. The dust vanished then clumped and re-solidified into the ground. Cracks that look patched, disappear and become fertile. Allah ﷻ says,

“And among His signs (He) that you see the earth dry and barren, then when We bring down water on it, it will move and be fertile. Surely the Lord who brought it to life could surely bring to life the dead. Indeed, He is Almighty over all things. “(QS: Fushshilat | Verse: 39).

If you consider this normal, because you are accustomed to watching it, then Allah mengubah has changed the belief in the heart of Abraham to haqqul yaqin, a higher degree of belief. Not only the heart that believes, not also the eye that only witnesses, but haqqul yaqin is the level of one’s confidence in the fruit of the sense of taste.

Allah ﷻ brought to life four birds that had been slaughtered, chopped, then placed randomly on different peaks of the mountains.

Imam Ibn Kathir narrated from Ibn Abbas that after Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissalam chopped the bodies of birds, scrambled them, and set them on the top of the hill, he held their heads in his hands. Then Allah intahkan command to call the birds. Ibrahim aih alaihissalam calls them as Allah ﷻ commanded.

Miracles happen. Things that cannot be ignored by humans are only small things in the sight of Allah. God, He is the Knower of what has happened, what is happening, what is going to happen, and He knows something that cannot happen what happens.

Prophet Ibrahim saw the bird feathers flying. Gathering together perfecting. Spilled blood has met back to the appropriate level. Shreds and pieces of meat that have been slashed back together to form the body. Likewise each member of the bird’s body, they returned to their original position. Connected to form a whole body.

After the organs are able to support the body, they stand upright, hastily walking toward Ibrahim to look for their heads. Allah ﷻ made their creation more than Prophet Ibrahim expected. So that his eyes watched. And other members of the body feel.

The birds came to pick up their heads in the hands of Prophet Ibrahim aih alaihissalam. If what they meet is not their head, they reject it. When they find the part that they hold their head, with the power of God ﷻ the body part is united. Indeed Allah is Almighty, Mighty, again Wise. Therefore, Allah ﷻ closes this verse with His words,

“And know that Allah is Mighty, Wise.”

He is Mighty, no one can defeat Him. He is Mighty, no one is able to respond to His will. And He is Wise in His words and actions.

Hopefully this series of five stories can soften our hearts to submit more to God. He has given the teaching that He is Almighty again has perfect ability.

He is able to revive the dead. Turn on the city to prosper again. Also liven up birds in an extraordinary way. Hopefully Allah will give us all for charity to get ready to pick up the day to rise.

Those Who Die Then Live Again: The City of Dead Prospered Again (4/5)

The next story is about a dead city that lives again. A ravaged city; the walls of the building collapsed against the ground, the roofs fell covered with the walls of the buffer, the inhabitants became extinct, perished there was no life there, the imagination of humans could not guess, there was no way the dead city could come back to life. But Allah ﷻ, He is the one who, when he wishes, can just say, be !, then the situation changes.

Allah isahkan tells the miracle of His creation in the following verse:

Or do you (those who do not pay attention) through a country that (the wall) has fallen over the roof. He said: “How did God revive this country after it was destroyed?” So God killed the man a hundred years, then brought him back to life. God asked: “How long have you lived here?” He replied: “I live here a day or half a day.” Allah said: “Actually you have lived here a hundred years; look at your food and drink that has not yet changed; and look at your donkey (who has become a bone); We will make you a sign of our authority for humans; and look at the donkey’s bones, then We rearrange it, then We wrap it with meat. ” So when it was revealed to him (how God brought to life the dead) he said: “I am sure that Allah is All-Powerful over all things.” (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 259).

The scholars say many opinions about the main characters in this verse. Some say he is Uzair. Others say Khidir or Khadir. Others claim Hazkil bin Bura (Arabic: حزقيل بن بورا), one of the prophets of the children of Israel. And Mujahid argues that this story is about, “A man from the children of Israel”.

Masyhur stated that the dead city was Baitul Maqdis. When the person saw how severe the damage to Baitul Maqdis was. The roof that had settled, turned under the wall. Life is gone. Until it was not forgotten in his mind how the city could recover. He said,

“How did God revive this country after it was destroyed?”

Then Allah atkan recited it and brought it back to life 100 years later.

“Then God killed the man a hundred years, then brought him back to life.”

The first body part that God turned on from that person was his eyes, so he could see how Allah ﷻ was able to revive his destroyed body. The body that has perished as is the city of Baitul Maqdis. Then through His angel, God asked him,

“How long do you live here?”

God forgives him in the morning, then 100 years later, He raises it in the afternoon. His eyes saw the yellow sun of the morning had changed to the afternoon line. He answered,

“I live here a day or half a day.”

Besides still feeling the sun, he also saw his lunch was still perfect. Buah Tin has not wrinkled and become sour. Wine has not been moldy and rotten. And the juice has not disappeared and evaporated. But Allah, said,

“Actually you have lived here a hundred years; look at your food and drink that has not yet changed; and look at your donkey (who has become a bone). “

Look at your lagoon that has turned into bone, we will turn it back before you. And We made evidence to you for the truth of the resurrection day. The resurrection day is denied because they say impossibility. As you would expect, how can a city that is so devastated be immediately intact again.

“We will make you a sign of our authority for humans; and look at the bones of the donkey, then We rearrange it, then We wrap it with meat. “

70 years after his death (before he was resurrected), people came to Baitul Maqdis. They live there and enliven it with various activities. The buildings are back intact. The resident is here again. Human voices are heard again in markets and cities. He witnessed everything he had not imagined before. He felt something he thought was impossible.

Such is life after death. Now people belie, then their own eyes will witness. They deny the body will rise. So God will raise the body and soul together. They could not imagine how the sun was only a mile. God will give proof, and those who witness themselves. Humans are confused and ask how can the body sink into sweat on a vast expanse of fields. It could be they who are immersed in sweat.

There is a heaven of reward for those who fear. There is hell to punish those who live at will. There is pleasure that has never been seen. Never heard. Not even imagined. And there is also a cruel torment beyond measure. The pain is unbearable. And the pain won’t pay off by regret.

This person said,

So when it was revealed to him (how God brought to life the dead) he said: “I am sure that Allah is All-Powerful over all things.”

But on the resurrection day, this sentence is no longer accepted. The lesson has been delivered. An example has been given. We are left to take lessons.

O Allah ﷻ we ask you to practice what you love and bless. Steer clear of everything you forbid. You are the one who has power over everything.

Those Who Die Then Live Again: Tens of thousands of Israelites Return to Life (3/5)

The third story is a story full of lessons. Awaken us that someone will not escape the provisions of Allah’s destiny ﷻ no matter how strong his efforts. Allah ﷻ ordered humans to try, but the results remained in His hands. This situation makes oneself humble and not high. The heart will always depend on Him ash-Shamad.

Allah ﷻ says,

“Do you not pay attention to those who come out of their hometowns, while they are thousands (in number) for fear of death; then God said to them: “Death to you”, then God brought them to life. Surely Allah has a gift to humans, but most people are not grateful. “(QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 243).

Ibn Kathir in his interpretation explained that this story happened during the time of the children of Israel. Regarding the exodus of the residents of Dawirdan Village (Arabic: داوردان), there are those who call the Village Adzriat (Arabic: أذرعات), which ran away from the outbreak of Thaunun disease that hit their country. Their numbers are very large; 4000 or 8000 people. Some even estimate 30,000 or 40,000 people.

They fled to avoid the deadly Thaun epidemic. Looking for a safe place to double your age. Finally they arrived at a lowland that was clean of the plague. The new land became crowded with their arrival.

Then Allah ﷻ sent two angels. One is above the valley where they live. One more at the bottom. Then the two angels shouted once in a scream. Until all these refugees died.

“Do you not pay attention to those who come out of their hometowns, while they are thousands (in number) for fear of death; then God said to them: “You die”

Some time has passed. The bodies of thousands of people buried have become skulls and bones. God makes one bone out of one body scattered. The top is embedded somewhere, while the other part is far away in another place. Such is the situation. Even humans have difficulty collecting and re-assembling their frames. Then one of the prophets of the prophets of God passed by. He begged Allah ﷻ to bring them back to life. God also answered his prayer.

At God’s command, the scattered bones returned to the other members. Gather, re-occupy its position until human skeletons are formed. Allah intahkan command the bones to be wrapped with flesh, veins and skin. Imam Ibn Kathir quoted a story from one of the salaf that the prophet witnessed this amazing event. Then Allah intahkan command their souls to return to their bodies. They also come back to life. The people felt that they had been awakened from a very long sleep. Then they said, “Glory to You (O Allah our Rabb and all praise be to You), there is no God who has the right to be worshiped except Thy self”.

This is the meaning of the verse:

“Then God brought them to life.”

There is an atsar shahih narrated by Imam Ahmad from Abdullah bin Abbas radhiallahu ‘anhuma: Once upon a time Umar bin al-Khattab came out praying towards Sham. On the way he met Abu Ubaidah Ibnul Jarah and his friends who reported that Sham was suffering from an epidemic.

Then Abdurrahman bin Auf said, “Really I have knowledge about this problem”. Abdurrahman has a solution, what steps should Umar take. Do you continue your trip to Sham or return to Medina. Said Abdurrahman bin Auf, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,

“If an epidemic is in your place, do not run away from the plague. And if you hear an area is attacked by a disease outbreak, don’t you enter it. ”(Narrated by Ahmad).

Umar also praised God, then returned to Medina.

In another narration, Abdurrahman told Umar that the Messenger of Allah, said,

“Epidemics have condemned people before you. If you hear that a place has been plagued by an outbreak, don’t enter that place. But if your place is ordered, don’t run away from it. “Umar returned to Medina. (History of al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Lesson:

First: The story contained in this verse teaches us that there is no place to depend except to God. Nothing can escape and free itself from His destiny. People fled their villages, avoiding the plague, so that they could live long. But who would have thought, the road they took instead brought them closer to death.

Second: Sometimes the business does not have to bear fruit. If so why must take an illegitimate effort. Corruption someone wants to accumulate wealth to become rich. It could be that he is rich, not a few who go to jail. A young man goes out to marry his dream girl. It could be that he got it, maybe he was abandoned. Likewise a large group of people from the children of Israel. They run away from death. They may be safe and they may die. But Allah apkan set them dead as a lesson for them and all of us. Because of that Allah ﷻ says,

“Surely Allah has a gift to humans, but most people are not grateful.”

Third: As God is able to revive humans for the second time in the world, their souls and bodies, as well as in the resurrection day. Allah ﷻ is capable of everything.

Fourth: Therefore, one should not run away from jihad for fear of death. As running from a deadly outbreak is not necessarily saving. Likewise, coming to something that threatens life does not necessarily bring death. Therefore in the next verse Allah says,

“And fight ye in the way of Allah, and know that Allah is Hearing, Knower.” (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 244).

Fifth: This story also teaches that spending wealth in the way of Allah does not end in poverty or lack. In the next verse Allah irman says,

“Who wants to lend to God, a good loan (spend his wealth in the way of Allah), then Allah will double the payment to him with multiple multiples. And Allah narrows and makes it easier for Him to return. “(QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 245).

Hopefully this story will captivate our hearts to study the verses of the Koran. Make it love and enjoy reading it.

Those Who Die Then Live Again: Children of Israel and Cows (2/5)

The events of human life again are the story of the children of Israel with female cows. It began when the Israelites found someone killed. But it is not known who the killer was. Immediately they bestowed the deed on one of them. Be the main suspect.

Looking for Cows

Then one of them said, there was Moses in our midst. Go to him, because he is a prophet and surely he knows. They went to Moses and asked about who was the mysterious killer.

Although a prophet and apostle, Moses did not know about occult matters. Those who know about occult matters are only Allah. Then with His wisdom, Allah saja did not just tell them who the killer was. He ﷻ tested the people of Israel with a command. Whether when they are in need they will draw closer to God and obey Him, or vice versa. Allah ﷻ says,

And (remember), when Moses said to his people: “Verily Allah commanded you to slay a female cow”. They said: “Do you want to make us a mockery?” Moses replied: “I take refuge in Allah so that I do not become one of the ignorant people”. (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 67).

The views of the people of Israel as people worship today. All must be in accordance with logic. Though the logic ability is very narrow. According to the children of Israel, we ask to be told who is the murderer? Koq was even told to slaughter a female cow. Do you want to make us a mockery, O Moses? “

This command could also be intended to eliminate the confusion that exists in their minds. Because before they worshiped cows. So Allah commanded to slaughter cows.

From here we can learn lessons, the main purpose of the Shari’a is to be obeyed, not to be ignored first. Muslim women are ordered to wear headscarves to avoid interference. Logic worshipers say, if he is a woman who is not attractive so that no one is interested in teasing her, can she take off the headscarf? The answer is no, because the main purpose of wearing a headscarf is to obey Allah and His Messenger. Likewise with other Shari’a.

The children of Israel began asking about the female cow.

They replied: “Ask your Lord for us, that He may explain to us; what is a female cow ” Moses replied: “Verily Allah says that the female cow is a female cow that is not old and not young; midway between it; then do what you are told “. (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 68).

After previously arguing, they finally accepted. This nature is certainly very different from the nature of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ. They never questioned the order of the Prophet apalagi, let alone deny it.

The Children of Israel began to question the cow as what God wanted. They burden themselves, even though God only commands enough cows. Then called … the cow is normal; not too old, not too young. The ordinary one.

Cows that can turn dead people off are certainly not ordinary cows. Of course there are more important specifications about it. They also asked about the color of the cow.

They said: “Ask your Lord for us so that He will explain to us what the color is.” Moses replied: “Verily, Allah said that the female cow was a yellow female cow, whose color was dark yellow, again pleasing those who looked at it.” (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 69).

After the color is answered, they don’t feel enough. They kept over about the requirements that were originally very simple. Add more requirements, because it’s not special enough.

They said: “Ask your Lord for us so that He will explain to us the nature of the female cow, because the cow is actually (still) vague for us and in fact, God willing, we will get a clue (to get the cow)”. (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 70).

Moses answered,

Moses said: “Verily, Allah said that the female cow was a female cow that had never been used to plow the land and not to irrigate plants, without blemishes, no stripes”. They said: “Now you will explain the true nature of the female cow.” (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 71).

Only the conditions are enough for them. They set off looking for it.

If from the beginning they slaughtered a female cow, what kind of female cow, then they had fulfilled God’s command. But they are troubling themselves. They ask what kind of female cow? Answered a female cow who is not old and not young. They question the color. Answered the yellow female cow. The dark yellow one. Not only is it amber, but it is also pleasing to the people who look at it. Then they asked for other conditions. Answered the female cow is a female cow that has never been used to plow the land and not to irrigate crops, without blemishes, nor any stripes.

They also find it difficult to find a special cow. A cow that can revive a dead person. Although finally got it.

“Then they slaughtered it and almost they did not carry out the command.” (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 71).

This is the bad character of the children of Israel that the Prophet warned of ﷺ in his words,

From Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu anhu, he said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,‘ Whatever I forbid you, then stay away. And whatever I command you, then do what you can. Indeed, what destroys the people before you is simply because they ask a lot of questions and sneak in their Prophets. “(Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Allah also forbids us to ask a lot about something that is sufficient in the Shari’a.

“O ye who believe, do not ask (to your Prophet) things that if explained to you will cause you trouble …” (QS: Al-Maidah | Verse: 101).

The Children of Israel made it difficult for themselves, God also made them feel difficulties. The cattle seller asks for the price of cattle to be paid a large amount of gold. They collected their gold, then paid for it. After that they gave the cow to Moses, and Moses slaughtered it.

Moses’ Peace be upon him took one part of the body of the cow – which part was not explained. There are those who mention adz-dzira ‘ie calf calves up to the top of the foot. There are also those who claim the cow’s thighs. Moses struck the cow’s body to the corpse, with the power of God ﷻ the body came back to life.

“And (remember), when you killed a man then you accused each other of that. And God wants to reveal what you have been hiding. Then We said: “Beat the corpse with a portion of the female cow!” So God revived the dead, and showed you the signs of His power so that you understood. “(QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 72-73).

Moses said, “Now he himself will tell you who killed him.” Then the person who came back to life mentioned who was the killer. After that, he was again converted (al-Khomis, 2010: 391).

Allah uasa rules over everything. He was able to invent humans, before there was absolutely nothing. He is able to bring to life a dead man, so that humans experience twice life in the world. And He ﷻ is also able to raise up humans later on the Day of Judgment. Loss and regret those who deny the resurrection day. How disappointed those who believe in the resurrection, but do not do good deeds prepare it.

Those Who Die Then Live Again: The Children of Israel ask to be shown by Allah (1/5)

In the Qur’an, in Surat Al-Baqarah, there are five extraordinary events. Events that show that God ﷻ is the master of the universe. He does whatever he wants. He is the Able and Power of all things. And He is the only one worthy of worship.

That event is the return of the soul of a living being who has died. In the hereafter? No, this is happening in the world. And it happened to the previous people. So that people afterwards can take lessons. Of course we should do it, because God ekali has provided us with reason.

The first event was the incident about the presumptuousness of the Children of Israel from the people of the Prophet Moses. They ask to be shown by God ﷻ. Allah ﷻ says,

“And (remember), when Moses said to his people:” O my people, verily you have persecuted yourself because you have made calves (your worship), then repent to the Lord who made you and killed you. It is better for you in the sight of the Lord who made you; then God will accept your repentance. Verily He is the Receiver of repentance, the Most Merciful. And (remember), when you say: “Moses, we will not believe in you before we see God in light, therefore you are struck by lightning, while you are watching”. After that We raise you up after you die, so that you will be grateful. “(QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 56).

Beginning of the story

This story begins when the Prophet Musa “peace be upon him was called by God” to receive revelation. Before heading to His Lord, Moses entrusted the children of Israel to his brother, Harun aih alaihissalam. So that Aaron would supervise, educate and guide them. And don’t let them turn to kufr. Moreover, the signs of deviation were seen when they had just survived the ocean and watched as Pharaoh was destroyed. Banu Israel said,

And We stretched out the Children of Israel across the sea, so that when they came to a people who continued to worship their idols, Banu Israel said: “O Moses. make for us a god (idols) as they have some God (idols) “. Moses replied: “Indeed you are a people who do not know (the attributes of God)”. (QS: Al-A’raf | Verse: 138).

Sure enough, the children of Israel manifested Moses’ concern. Great pleasure from God amatkan saved from Pharaoh was forgotten. Look at one of the people of the Prophet Moses named Samiri. He is not an Israeli. But he was able to influence them with the imaginary story of his lust. Samiri invited the children of Israel to worship a golden idol in the form of a cow. Allah ﷻ says,

“And (remember), when We promised Moses (giving the Torah, after) forty nights, then you made calves (worship) after he left and you were wrongdoers.” (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 51 )

When the Israelites fled Pharaoh, some of them stole gold from the land of Egypt. Then after crossing the sea, Moses ordered that the gold be thrown away, because the property was not lawful for them. Allah ikan enshrines it in His word,

They said: “We never violated your agreement with our own will, but we were told to carry the burdens of the jewelry of the people, so we threw it, and so Samiri threw it”. (QS: Thaahaa | Verse: 87).

Samiri collected the gold and made it a statue of a cow. A statue that when the air enters through the back, a sound will emerge from the mouth of the cow statue. The Children of Israel were amazed by the object.

Samiri said to them, “This is the God of Moses. God he went to meet him. “(Al-Khomis, 2010: 385). Allah ﷻ says,

“Then Samiri issued for them (from that hole) the calf who had a body and voice, then they said:” This is your Lord and the Lord Moses, but Moses has forgotten “.” (QS: Thaahaa | Verse: 88).

How fast they slip. Even though they have witnessed the power of God with their senses. Their eyes see what happened. The ears heard his roar. Their skin feels the atmosphere. But the denial still happened. Likewise this people, the people who have been sent as well as possible envoys, Muhammad ﷺ. The people who have been explained to them the Qur’an. The eyes and ears of this people have heard what happened to the previous people. It will also slip if they are negligent from obedience. The Prophet, said,

“Hurry to practice the prayer before coming slander (calamity) like a dark night piece. That is, someone in the morning is in a state of faith and in the afternoon is in an infidel state. Some are in the evening in a state of faith and in the morning in an infidel state … “(Narrated by Muslim no. 118).

Upon returning from receiving revelation, Moses saw a very bad event. He is very angry. Without realizing it, he cast the revelation he had just received. Revelation that contains kalamullah.

And when Moses returned to his people with anger and sorrow, he said, “How bad you did after my departure! Do you want to overtake the promise of your Lord? And Moses threw down the Torah (Torah) … “(QS: Al-A’raf | Verse: 150)

Then he met his brother Harun whom he had entrusted to look after his people.

“… and (Moses) holding (the hair) of his brother’s head (Aaron) while grabbing him towards him …” (QS: Al-A’raf | Verse: 150).

The Children of Israel did not dare to do this bad deed when Moses aih Peace be upon them in the midst of them. They were very afraid of Moses. Because Moses was a hard and firm person towards them. As for Aaron, he was a meek man. So when Harun ‘alaihissalam alone, they dared to intimidate him.

“… Aaron said:” O son of my mother, in fact this people has considered me weak and almost killed me, therefore do not make enemies happy to see me, and do not put me into the wrongdoers. “( QS: Al-A’raf | Verse: 150).

The arrival of the Prophet Moses, especially in a state of anger, made the Children of Israel quit their actions. Although this kesyirikan is very much, but they did not dare to face the Prophet Moses alone. Moses was an authoritative man again firm. Then the children of Israel complained that save the culprit.

Moses met Samiri and asked him about this incident.

Samiri replied: “I knew something they did not know, so I took a handful from the footsteps of the apostle and I threw it, and so my passion persuaded me”. (QS: Thaahaa | Verse: 96).

The Apostle is Gabriel. Samiri saw Gabriel riding his horse, as soon as the Israelites came out of the divided sea. When Pharaoh and his army were killed by waves (as-Sa’di, 2003: 484).

Did Moses know what really happened. And the voice that came out of the statue of the ox was because it had been used by the horse Gabriel (al-Khomis, 2010: 387). Then the Prophet Moses burned the idol. The cow statue was destroyed.

The Children of Israel Ordered Repentance

They said, “We repent, O Moses”. Prophet Moses replied, “kill yourself (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 54)”. At God’s command, there is darkness and light. Then those who repented were fighting each other (killing each other). Some say up to 70,000 of them were killed. This is repentance by Allah for them. For the cruel sins they committed after the gift of victory over Pharaoh.

We must thank God ﷻ. Because we get special treatment. The early people immediately got adzab when they were kufr. Unlike the people of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Allah unda postponed adzab to the people of this age. There is a strong time to repent. If they repent, their sins will be blotted out. And for them reward in the hereafter.

Then the darkness vanished. The Children of Israel said, “O Moses, has Allah accepted our repentance?” Moses replied, “Allah has accepted your repentance. But I will choose some of you. “

“And Moses chose seventy people from his people to (beg for repentance to Us) at the time We have determined …” (QS: Al-A’raf | Verse: 155).

Moses also invited 70 of the best of the children of Israel to go. Moses said to them, “Wait, I am going to stand before my Rabb”. They responded, “Did we also hear the words of your Rabb? We must also hear it. “

Moses said, “Come along with me.” Look at how sad Moses is for them and how presumptuous they are to Allah and His Messenger.

Moses had a prayer to Allah and Allah had a dialogue with him. 70 people heard the word of God. Then with no adab, they again spoke up, “O Moses, who is it that is talking to You?” Moses replied, “He is my Rabb”. Then they answered,

“O Moses, we will not believe in you before we see God in truth …” (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 55).

Pay attention! This is the state of the best people of the people of Prophet Moses. How bad they are. How else are the people under their position. Certainly much worse and rough. However, how affection and patience, one of the apostles who was dubbed ulul Azmi faced them. Allah ﷻ says,

And (remember), when you say: “Moses, we will not believe in you before we see God in light, therefore you are struck by lightning, while you are watching”. (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 55).

70 of the best of the children of Israel also perished.

This incident again shows the noble character of the Prophet Moses ‘Peace be upon him. How much he loves his people. Moses said, “O my Lord, what should I say to the children of Israel when I go home and meet them? Do I have to say, ‘God has destroyed 70 people’? O God, revive them and accept their repentance.

The Prophet Moses did not want this situation to further make his people distorted. And Allah un Forgiving, He forgives those whom He gives pleasure in succession, but still denies as much to Him. Then God revived them for the second time.

“After that We raise you up after you die, so that you will be grateful.” (QS: Al-Baqarah | Verse: 56).

This is the first group, who died then came back to life. They experience twice life in the world.
